How to Remain Human in 2026

Dear friends,

During these long winter holiday nights, I often look up at the clear sky, illuminated by shimmering stars. Each time, a strange feeling of longing comes over me. Probably the same feeling that cannot be described in words, the one that has moved human beings for thousands of years whenever they look up at the sky. These feelings are infused with images of HOPE for what lies ahead.
As we wish for ourselves and others the fulfillment of desires, happiness, good health, joy, or success, we are in fact sensing this strange longing for what is yet to come, as if, filled with hope, we are awaiting the arrival of the Child, that Star Child who will mark the beginning of the long-awaited New Age.

In the eyes of a mother nursing her baby, we can see and feel the radiant glow of that Star Child. And perhaps, at this very moment, a child is being born who will, in the near future, succeed in reconciling the lamb and the wolf, watching them rest peacefully side by side in the meadow. Such children have been born many times throughout history, for example in the little Krishna, in Prince Gautama, or in Jesus.

When, in a newborn child, a human being, the unfathomable mystery of Life begins to shine, we come into contact with what is most essential, and that is: how to become and remain HUMAN.

Our deepest longing is in fact tied to this fundamental goal, how to become and remain human, because we realize how far we still are from true HUMANITY.

With great compassion, respect, humility, and love, I look upon the suffering of people in the war raging not far from our homes. While a chill runs through my body, I am overcome by gratitude for a life in peace, and by the feeling that this suffering may also represent the labor pains of a New Age, pains without which it seems impossible for this NEW HUMAN OF THE NEW AGE to be born.
All of us are responsible, both YOU and I, for the world in which we live, and for the birth of the New Human, for the birth of a new world order that will not be based on fear, but on an entirely new form of trust, in which rivalry will be transformed into cooperation, greed into a joyful desire to share everything with others, violence into harmonious peace.

These are not mere wishes or dreams. Their fulfillment is within reach. But above all, it is necessary for that Star Child to awaken and be born within each of us.

From the bottom of my heart, I wish for that Star Child to awaken and shine within you and within all the people of our unique planet. May, precisely in the darkness of these somber days, the light of Love shine in the hearts of all of us, and may the Light of love sparkle in your starry eyes.
